Curatorial Statement on “Co-Learning Squad” Project

Project Curator: Sandy Chan Man Yee

The “Co-learning Squad” was established in 2023. We invite various local community units (such as social welfare organizations, schools, art groups, and ecological organizations) to become partner units, working together to organize and host activities in the “group learning mode”, actively attempting to implement the mission of the “In Time of”: “Starting with the smallest aspects of daily life to make changes and embrace the concept of coexisting with the world”.

Each year-round project takes “Living in Coexistence” as the theme, exploring different aspects of relationships — ” ___:___ “. Coexistence encompasses a wide range of interfaces, such as “Self: World/Earth/Universe“, to relationships touching on aspects ofIndividual: Community/Nature/Other People“, to focusing on “Self (inner true self): Self (externally portrayed self)”. How have you been lately?

The ultimate goal of the project is not forcing participants to choose “I must become a coexistent human”, but rather to take a small step towards their own curiosity during the learning process, engaging in “discovery” and making choices:

What kind of feelings and thoughts do I have during such a “relationship” state? Hoping the participants would have a better self-understanding and be willing to attempt to face and accept themselves.

Discovering and recognizing “I have such thoughts and choices” is a key exploration point in this “Co-learning Squad” journey.

self: me” represents the coexistence relationship status within yourself, which is one of the most important co-learning aspects throughout this project.

Through different activity experiences in the project, we hope to provide you with a few inspirational methods and ideas, thus to encourage you to carry on a continuous self-dialogue process on and on, to explore how to live well with your true self sustainably.
