How does a multisensory dining experience sound to you?

In collaboration with @deep_food, @tscrewhk and @rooot.hk, In Time Of is presenting “The Myth of It/Eat – Plant Banquet”, an immersive dining experience that leads participants to rethink our relationship with food.

To explore elitism, industrialization, and diversity in food, the food design team @deep_food breathes fantasy and life into cooking, creates mythical characters and reflects those characteristics on food design. These issues are exactly what we deal with on a daily basis; they represent mainstream values in modern society.

Contemporary dance group @tscrewhk will become the staff of the restaurant. The meal is delivered to the diners through crew members’ free swinging in the room, acting as a communication link between the food and the diners and presenting the association between body and food. In order to broaden the participant’s perspective on the association of food and the body, the cooking process is incorporated into the eating experience in addition to the food itself.

Taking place at @rooot.hk, a restaurant in The Mills that advocates the use of local ingredients, the venue’s features and cultural background will be incorporated, together with local cultural elements, to create a distinctive culinary experience.

“You Are What You Eat”, your body will honestly reflect what you eat. Choosing food is not a trivial activity, and eating is not only a necessary daily activity for survival but also a social activity.
